Aquesta decisió personal, en contra del parer d’una part de l’equip directiu i de les organitzacions sindicals de la CCOO i UGT, va provocar que la plantilla es veiés obligada a treballar sense els mitjans de protecció necessaris (ni guants ni gels ni mascaretes ni mampares), exposant al contagi milers de treballadors i treballadores.
CCOO i la UGT s’han oposat des de l’inici a la decisió irresponsable del president de Correos, que contravenien les recomanacions del Govern, i han denunciat des del primer moment que aquesta irresponsabilitat comportava un risc enorme per a la plantilla. No només han dut la companyia pública, la més gran del país, al trist rècord de contagis per coronavirus, sinó que, a més, han generat un autèntic caos en la gestió.
